Meet Our Providers
Carroll A. Pinner, III, MD
​
Dr. Carroll A. Pinner, III graduated from The Citadel and Bowman-Gray School of Medicine. He completed his residency in the Greenville Hospital System and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has been with Pinner Clinic since 1975, caring for generations of families.
​
Dr. Carroll has a special interest in managing chronic health diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, but seems to be the expert on just about anything thrown at him. There isn't much he hasn't seen in his long career of practicing medicine!
​
Dr. Carroll has a huge heart for ensuring those in need get medical care, whether that's conducting the hard-to-find home visit, volunteering his time and services to the Free Medical Clinic of Newberry County, or acting as a strong advocate for Best Chance Network and other programs that benefit the medically underserved.

Dr. Carroll is ACLS and BLS certified, is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American Academy of Medical Review Officers.

In his spare time, Dr. Carroll loves hunting and spending time outdoors.

Lori Turner, APRN
​
Lori Turner is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in South Carolina.
​
Lori earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in 2009, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2012. Lori became a Family Nurse Practitioner in December 2014 and is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Lori worked as a hospitalist and internal medicine provider for a hospitalist group in northeast Tennessee for seven years until relocating to South Carolina in 2022. Since then, Lori has been working in neurology and long-term care.
Lori sees patients with both acute and chronic illnesses and has a special interest in blood pressure control and helping patients get healthier so they can take less medication. She is passionate about advocating for her patients and enjoys building the provider-patient relationship.
Lori lives with her husband, two children, four dogs, six cats, a turtle, her mom and her mother-in-law (yes – all in the same house!). You can guess that Lori doesn’t have much spare time, but when she does, she enjoys painting and discovering the Columbia area with her family.
Benjamin C. Pinner, MD

Dr. Benjamin C. Pinner (son of Dr. Carroll A. Pinner, III) joined Pinner Clinic in 2007. He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1999 and the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004. He completed his residency training at AnMed Health Family Medicine in Anderson, SC in 2007. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Dr. Ben’s interests include management of chronic health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension as well as preventive healthcare and medical procedures. He has additional training in endoscopic procedures and performs EGDs and colonoscopies at Midlands Endoscopy Center in Irmo. In more recent years, Dr. Ben began training in and performing cosmetic procedures, and in 2020, founded Peak Aesthetics.
Dr. Ben is ACLS and BLS certified, is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Primary Care Endoscopy, the American Association of Medical Review Officers, the South Carolina Medical Association, and the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ben enjoys spending time with his three children, hunting and being outdoors, gardening, antiquing, and community service.
Kelsey Rutter, APRN

Kelsey Rutter is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in South Carolina.
Kelsey is a native of Lexington, South Carolina. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University, Kelsey spent 1 year working on a surgical/cardiac step down unit and then 4 years in the Pediatric Emergency Department. She then earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
Kelsey is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Kelsey sees patients with both acute and chronic illnesses. She has special interest in women’s health, pediatrics and preventative medicine. She is passionate about developing strong relationships with her patients and improving their overall health.
Kelsey currently resides in Newberry with her husband, son and 3 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys hunting and traveling with her family.
